Elizabeth Wires | Midnight Loon Glass

Kenora, Ontario, Canada
I am a glass artist living and working in Kenora, Ontario on Lake of the Woods. My glass art is inspired by my natural surroundings of forest, water, flora, and fauna, as well as my travels. With very few exceptions, my day starts with an early morning walk with my springer spaniels. My morning walks are solitary and provide me with a time to reflect and experience the outdoors in all its glory. This past summer I had the opportunity to travel to Newfoundland and travel throughout the province. Newfoundland’s people, geography, history and landscape are truly inspiring … watch for new glass art inspired by Newfoundland this winter! I am always amazed as I visit museums and historic sites, that glass is one of the items that survive the ages. Glass is an ancient art form that has survived the centuries and civilizations. As we approach the holiday season, Midnight Loon Glass will be at three markets in November and December … two in Kenora and one in Selkirk, Manitoba. Check out my events page for market details. As many of you know I love to teach glass art … a great gift for someone special (or maybe you!) this holiday season. Don't forget - gift certificates are available for that hard-to-shop-for someone! Cheers and all the best to you and your family. See you soon! Elizabeth Wires
