Elizabeth Wires | Midnight Loon Glass
Kenora, Ontario, Canada
I am a glass artist living and working in Kenora Ontario on beautiful Lake of the Woods. My glass work is inspired by my natural surroundings of forest, water, fora and fauna. I love trying new glass techniques and teaching. This past winter I had the opportunity to travel to Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Canary Islands and Funchal, Madeira. Wonderful opportunity to see amazing mosaic and stained glass. Glass art is in part of everyday life in this part of the world … whether it is the Hassan II Mosque, the streets of Portugal or the Church of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Glass is part of everyday life as well as a way to celebrate and keep alive the legacy of cultures and events. A great reminder of how glass art can keep our history and stories alive.
Looking forward to another summer of being at the Farmer’s Markets on the Kenora Habourfront. I am also pleased to announce that I will be at the Sioux Narrows Art Show & Sale on the August long weekend. This will be my first time at the Art Show & Sale. Excited to be part of it.
See you soon! Elizabeth Wires
