Elizabeth Wires | Midnight Loon Glass

Kenora, Ontario, Canada
I am a glass artist living and working in Kenora, Ontario on Lake of the Woods. My glass art is inspired by my natural surroundings of forest, water, flora, and fauna, as well as my travels. With very few exceptions, my day starts with an early morning walk with my springer spaniels. My morning walks are solitary and provide me with a time to reflect and experience the outdoors in all its glory. We have been more than patient waiting for spring to arrive; so looking forward to be back swimming and boating! I am back in my studio again after six months working for the Kenora & Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation as their interim Executive Director. They are a great organization that gives so much back to charities in our communities that are making a difference. It is good to be getting back to teaching and making glass! I have lots of work ahead of me, as I start to build my glass inventory for the Farmer’s Markets this summer. My first Farmer’s Market of the 2019 season will be June 26th. Look forward to seeing you throughout the summer! Interested in trying your hand at making your own glass piece? I really enjoy sharing my years of experience making glass art. I learn as much as I share with workshop participants, who bring new design ideas and keep me challenged. If you are interested in a workshop this spring or summer, just give me a call or email. See you soon! See you soon! Elizabeth Wires
